Welcoming a newborn into a family is an extraordinary moment filled with joy, tenderness, and an overwhelming sense of love. For couples who have just embarked on the journey pf parenthood, capturing those precious moments through newborn photography becomes a cherishes keepsake.
This couple is extra special because I also had the pleasure of photographing their amazing wedding day! There is nothing I love more about my career than capturing all of the beautiful milestones in my clients lives. Seeing how incredibly happy Marissa and Brendan were on their wedding day at The Drexelbrook, and now seeing their love for one another create this adorable new life is an absolutely wonderful part of my job.
The nursery is always a favorite spot in the home to photography an In Home Lifestyle Newborn session, for all of the obvious reasons! With a neutral, soft color palette and delicate decor, the nursery serves as the perfect backdrop for capturing the innocence of a newborn. I always talk to my clients prior to their session and let them know what is needed for an In Home Lifestyle Newborn session, so that we get the best results for their session. So, here are some tips for a successful photoshoot:
Natural Window light is key! Embrace the beauty of natural light to create soft and flattering images. Always pose your client near the window or open curtains to allow sunlight to illuminate your scene.
Capture Candid Moments! While posed shots are beautful, candid moments often evoke genuine emotions. Encourage your couples to interact naturally with their baby, capturing the unscripted joy that parenthood brings.
Incorporate Personal Touches: Integrate meaningful props and elements of the home to add a personal touch to the images. This could include a favorite blanket, a family heirloom such as a wooden bassinet, or artwork from the nursery.
Patience is a Virtue: Newborn operate on their own schedule, so be patient and flexible during the session, allowing breaks for feeding and comforting as needed.
