With summertime approaching, I am getting more and more excited about all of my upcoming family beach sessions. There is no better way to celebrate the closeness of family then to get together at your favorite Jersey Shore beach and do a beautiful golden hour photo session together. The memories captured are priceless and irreplaceable.

I worked with this gorgeous family for their extended family beach photo session in the Long Beach Island shore area of New Jersey. Long Beach Island is a special shore point for them, so it was important to incorporate this location into their session.

They were also celebrating their mom’s (grandma’s) milestone birthday, and what better way to celebrate than with photos of everyone at their happy place!

When doing extended families, my main goal (other than capturing the beautiful connections between family members) is to get variety in my images. I will photograph the entire family as a group, both posed and candid, but I will also photograph each family individually as well as other groupings. Grandparents with their grandchildren is always a go to and also just capturing the children as well.

I love having a wide variety of groupings, and getting some posed/some candid shots for each specific grouping during the session.

I always wrap up my beach sessions near the water, when the sun is almost setting and we get that gorgeous golden light. The warmth of the sunlight against the cool tones of the water is just such a beautiful color combo for photos. And, if you’re lucky you may even get some cotton candy colored skies in there too! I love having some fun with the family by the water and of course getting some fun candid shots of the children happily playing in the ocean.

After doing some photos close to the water, I also like to pivot around and capture that bold, golden sunlight behind my subject and just get them to frolic around in the sand, and just have fun with each other and create these playful moments. I love the way the sun and skies just POP in these images taken at golden hour at the beautiful Jersey Shore.

We ended the session with a little bubbly to celebrate a milestone birthday in the family. I really enjoy capturing these type of candid moments between the family, coming together to commemorate the matriarch of the family.

Looking forward to sharing more sessions like this one! And, looking forward to the warm summer nights ahead and continuing to photograph all of my amazing clients in various beach towns along the Jersey Shore throughout the summer season.

South Jersey lifestyle graduation session| Rowan University, Glassboro, NJ

It’s about that time…graduation season is upon us!

I had the pleasure of photographing this amazing college graduation session at Rowan College, located in Glassboro, New Jersey. The campus, nestled amidst picturesque surroundings, provided the perfect backdrop for capturing this significant milestone in the graduates' lives.

These three girls, who are close friends, decided to do their session together, which I love the idea of. What’s better than having a photo session with your besties, celebrating a major milestone in life. They clearly had a ton of fun during the session (as you can see from most of the images)!

I absolutely love these images of the girls with the historical building in the background. Whether in color or black and white, they just give off a really neat feel to it. The architecture of the building, with the staircase and the pillars really just showcases the beauty of Rowan college campus.

The girls had a lot of fun ideas, like the one of them tossing their caps at the camera and also tossing their caps up in the air, simultaneously. Not only did they have fun with it, but it ended uo making for some really great candid moments.

Not only did we take lots of group photos, but we also got in some great individual portraits on the Rowan campus. Some more traditional photos with their cap and gown, and also some more casual, fun photos in their dresses. I love all of the variety that we were able to capture during the duration of their graduation session.

I also love how they decorated their caps as a reflection of their study as well as their personality. I don’t remember ever doing that back in my day, when I graduated college and I am not sure it was even a thing…but, I am loving that it is a trend now!

As the sun began to set, we wrapped up the session with a group photo of the girls, standing side by side with beaming smiles. The sense of camaraderie and shared accomplishment was evident in every frame, serving as a testament to the bonds forged during their time at Rowan College.

Of course, we had to get some shots of the celebrating with a little bubbly! These were probably some of the most fun shots of the entire session. And, I just love how the golden sun is illuminating them and just giving the best light for these photos.

Photographing this college graduation session at Rowan College in Glassboro, New Jersey was a truly rewarding experience. Capturing the joy, pride, and sense of achievement radiating from these girls was a reminder of the transformative power of education and also the special bond that they share with one another. I feel privileged to have been a part of this very special moment in their lives and to have captured these beautiful memories through the lens of my camera. Happy Graduation!

South Jersey maternity session|Washington Lake park| Washington Township, New Jersey- Gordon family

Spring has sprung and the blooms are out! This maternity session at the beautiful Washington Lake park in Washington Township, New Jersey showcases all of these gorgeous spring blooms. It also features this super adorable family that I have been working with for years. I have had the absolute pleasure of photographing many milestones for this family, from their wedding day, to maternity sessions for each baby and also In Home Lifestyle Newborn sessions. I just love having clients like them, that let me into their lives to capture each special moment, time and time again.

With baby number 3 on the way, after having 2 boys, they are welcoming a little girl!! I am so excited for them to get the experience of all the girly things after having two boys. And, I know this mama is especially looking forward to all of that and cannot wait to be a girl mom as well as a boy mom.

I really love this particular image of mom with her younger son. Love how he is sitting on her adorable baby bump while kissing on her…the sweetest! And, that pop of pink with all of the blooms in the background is pure perfection for a spring session. Also, how stinking cute are the boys in these images below? The cutest!

Time for some mom and dad time. Always take time to focus on mom and dad during family sessions. That’s where all the love began, after all. And, they need to have some updated photos of just the two of them to put around their home. Wedding pictures just aren’t enough! Love these images of their hands on the baby bump and again, those gorgeous pops of pink in the background. Springtime florals are just glorious!

As the cold grip of winter fades away, the beauty of spring begins to awaken in all its glory. I had the pleasure of photographing this stunning mama and her two daughters during the golden hour, and the results were nothing short of magical. I absolutely love the black and white barn as well as the silo that is on the grounds of Whitesbog Village in Pemberton, New Jersey. It’s a rustic look that gives off modern vibes and is the perfect backdrop for this particular type of family session. If you are a fan of the modern farmhouse style, this is definitely the spot for you! So much variety with the buildings, the silo and the greenery that covers the village…you can’t go wrong.

As the sun set over Whitesbog Village, we family wrapped up their photo session with hearts full of love and gratitude. You can even peek a dilapidated brick building in the background of the image below. I love locations that have a historic feel to them but still look good and up to date for modern day photos.

I hope mom and dad love this session as much as I do. I think we got a large variety of backgrounds, looks and all the feels with these lovely images.

I mean, how gorgeous is this setting? The boats in the background against that golden sunlight. The perfect backdrop for this Ocean City, New Jersey family beach session. Love getting mom and dad alone in some images, in addition to the girls and the whole family. And, with the way mom’s dress was flowing behind her when the wind picked up, I just had to get some romantic images of the two of them. Just because you have kids doesn’t mean you can’t still get some good couples photos!

Another beautiful spot at this Ocean City, New Jersey beach is the jetty. I always use the jetty for family beach photos. It is a gorgeous spot for some more playful opportunities during a session, and also c’mon…look at that beautiful sky against the rocks and water! The jetty is absolutely stunning during a good sunset. I love having the family walk along the jetty for a nice movement photo and just hanging out at the base of the jetty for some up close and personal shots.

I always end my beach sessions in the water, because somebody always gets wet (and it’s usually me)! And, the water against the sand with the reflection always looks so beautiful with the sun setting. The colors of the sky turn cotton candy colors and it’s just pure goodness. I love getting the family walking along the water, enjoying the moment ad then of course some more playful ones in the water, splashing around. Kids always love this part of the session. So, another reason that I save it for last!

Philadelphia, PA Branding Session- On the Square

A few months ago, I had the pleasure of conducting a professional branding photo session at this stunning Philadelphia listing with the exceptional realtors from On The Square, a Compass Realty group. The picturesque setting provided the perfect backdrop to capture the essence of this amazing group.

Through this collaborative effort, we were able to showcase the passion and commitment of these real estate professionals, highlighting their unwavering devotion to their clients and their craft. It was such a pleasure working with the Compass Realty On The Square group in this gorgeous setting in the heart of the beautiful city of Philadelphia. When they reached out to me about doing a branding session in one of their listings, I was super excited. Not only to see this stunning home, but also to meet each of them and have the experience of working with them.

Branding sessions offer a unique opportunity to capture a variety of shots that showcase both the professional and personal sides of an individual. The blend of candid and traditional head shots can create a well-rounded portfolio that resonates with the audience.

One aspect of the job that particularly resonated with me was capturing the staging shots during which the realtors were setting up the home and enjoying the process. These moments revealed a more authentic and unfiltered view of their personalities, which I absolutely love!

The Abington Club wedding| Jenkintown PA| Ben & Christina

Christina and Ben exchanged their vows on a late September day, under the backdrop of a stormy and rainy weather. Despite the inclement conditions, the love between the couple shone brightly, creating a touching and memorable atmosphere for their wedding ceremony.
The turbulent weather, which typically symbolizes challenge and adversity, seemed to beautifully contrast the unwavering love and commitment that Christina and Ben professed to each other. As they stood before their family and friends, the couple's love radiated through the dreary weather, underscoring the strength of their bond.
Though unconventional, the stormy backdrop and the sight of the couple choosing to embrace each other in the face of inclement weather lent a unique and poignant charm to the occasion. The contrast between the weather and the love that filled the air made the event even more memorable and meaningful for all in attendance.
As the rain poured and the winds howled, Christina and Ben's union remained unaffected, serving as a powerful testament to the steadfastness and enduring nature of their love. It was a day when the elements seemed to conspire against them, yet they emerged triumphantly, symbolizing the resilience and fortitude that would characterize their life together as a married couple.

The bride's getting ready took place in the warm, familiar embrace of her home, with her nearest and dearest surrounding her. Every aspect of her preparation was meticulously attended to, creating an atmosphere of pure perfection. The handmade, rich fall colored flowers, jeweled shoes and beautiful lace gown all complimented each other beautifully.

As the bridesmaids gathered to help the bride get ready for her big day, the air was filled with excitement and anticipation. Laughter and joyous banter filled the room as gifts were exchanged among the bridesmaids, each one a token of appreciation for their friendship and support. The room echoed with the sound of laughter and chatter as the bridesmaids shared in the joy of the occasion, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime.

The dress stood out against the dark wood piece of furniture, its intricately woven fabric catching the light in a way that made it seem almost ethereal. It was a unique piece, clearly crafted with care and attention to detail. Later, I discovered that the piece of furniture had belonged to her grandparents, adding a layer of meaning to the already beautiful ensemble.

Ben, along with his male friends and family, was also busy making all the necessary arrangements for the event, ensuring that everything was in place for the big day.The group shared a few laughs while watching a YouTube video on how to tie a tie.

The images of Christina with her three girls, all cuddled up in their silk robes, convey a heartwarming and joyful scene. The natural and genuine interactions among the family members capture a sense of warmth and togetherness. The playful and carefree moments depicted in the images exude a feeling of love, closeness, and happiness.

The Abington Club in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania showcased an array of stunning reception details. The indoor ceremony was a traditional and heartwarming affair, brimming with love and joy for the couple. As we catch our first glimpse of the newlyweds, it is evident that they radiate a palpable sense of joy and contentment.
Their interaction is a study in harmony, each movement and glance revealing the unspoken understanding that lies between them. As they exchange a shared smile, one can discern the unspoken promises and unwavering support they have for each other. This initial glimpse leaves one with the anticipation of witnessing a partnership that is built on mutual respect, unwavering love, and a shared journey towards the future.

We accompanied Christina and Ben on a leisurely stroll around the venue property, capturing candid moments and spontaneous portraits against the picturesque backdrop. The couple's joy and affection radiated through every frame, creating timeless mementos of their special day.

During the family and bridal party photos, an unexpected challenge arose when the wind picked up during the bridesmaids' photos. In one particular image, the wind caused the umbrella to turn inside out, creating a candid and memorable moment captured in the photograph. It turned out to be one of my absolute favorite images of the day!

After the portraits, it was time to get the party started. Guests mingled and enjoyed appetizers as they awaited the newlyweds' grand entrance. The DJ began to play upbeat tunes, setting the tone for a night of celebration. As the couple arrived, cheers filled the air, marking the beginning of a joyous evening.

A huge congrats to Christina and Ben on your amazing wedding day! Many well wishes as you both begin this new and exciting chapter in your lives. May your journey together be filled with love, happiness, and countless beautiful memories. Here's to a lifetime of joy and togetherness.

Moorestown New Jersey outdoor lifestyle family session- Herndon family

I am a huge fan of outdoor lifestyle family sessions and I love doing them at Boundary Creek park in Moorestown, New Jersey. There are so many gorgeous spots there, with lots of tall grass and beautiful golden sunlight. It never disappoints for us photographers!

I had worked with Herndon family a few times prior to this session, as I did their In Home Lifestyle newborn session with their little girl and I had also done a previous family session with them. They are such an adorable family and also just the sweetest people. It is hard not to get a gorgeous session out of them.

I really love the backdrop of the tall grass at Boundary Creek park. It gives such a calming and serene feel to these family sessions. And, the amazing golden light that shines through the trees makes for a glowy backlight that is just delicious on your subject. Pair that with some snuggles and squishes and voila, you have a picture perfect session!

Of course, their daughter is the star of the show and she knows it! I mean, c’mon, just look at that big smile. She loves the camera and clearly, the camera loves her too. I really love getting these close up, tight shots of little ones with mom and dad on either side. You can really FEEL the love that is happening in this image when you look at it.

Gahhhh. I really adore this black and white image of mama and her babe. It is classic and timeless and will always be a cherishes memory for many years to come. Hoping that mom framed this one in their home somewhere!!

Here’s more of that beautiful scenery and that perfect amount of golden light shining in the background. As a lifestyle photographer, I love posing my subject in the most natural way possible, so that it doesn’t quite look posed. I always guide my clients but then let them candidly play out the rest, so that it looks and feels uniquely organic to them.

And, honestly, most little ones have a mind of their own, so I typically just let them do their thing during the session. I find it to be so much more captivating to just snap away while they are their mischievous little selves! It really captures their individual personalities, which is to me is so much more beautiful than just smiling into the camera for each frame.

I just recently started getting into doing more branding sessions for businesses, and I absolutely love these type of sessions. Branding sessions are a much more fun way to get the typical head shots needed, but also get more in the moment candid images that also describe the type of work that you do. It’s a business in the front, party in the back type of session!!

I’ve worked with the gals from Looks and Lashes once before (and, I will post that session too just to show how we can get two different looks using the same space), so I knew what a great group of ladies I was working with. The salon space is located in the adorably quaint little town of Haddon Heights, New Jersey, right on the main street. And, they also provide wedding day/event hair ad makeup services as well.

Our session began amidst the picturesque streets of Haddon Heights, New Jersey, with it’s tree lined avenues and charming storefronts, providing the perfect backdrop for our branding photo session. The team from Looks and Lashes beauty radiated joy and enthusiasm as we explored the town, capturing moments that showcased their bond with each other as well as their passion for their craft.

Upon returning to the salon, the setting transformed into a hub of creativity and style. South Jersey Engagement session- Tatiana and Tomaso

Here’s the story of a beautiful winter engagement session, taking place in South Jersey. Tatiana and Tomaso were nothing short of magical and capturing this love story was pure bliss. Our engagement session unfolded with the charm of her father’s Italian restaurant, Sal and Joe’s in Maple Shade, New Jersey. The scene set the stage for a romantic narrative that transcends time.

The intimate moments begin at a cozy table in the heart of the restaurant, where the couple shared laughter, pasta, red wine, and the joy of each other’s company. Ahhhhhhh, that’s amore!! Capturing them popping a bottle of Veuve Clicquot and cuddling up together created a visual symphony of love and celebration. The ambiance of the restaurant added a touch of nostalgia and warmth to the initial images, emphasizing the significance of their connection.

I always love when a couple incorporates a place that is special to them or even something sentimental to them. I tell couples all the time, when they are having trouble figuring our where to do their engagement session, “think of a place that mean something to the both of you and holds a sacred place in your heart”. So, when Tatiana first reached out to me and asked about doing part of the engagement session at her father’s restaurant, I was like “heck yes”!!!

Side note: I also grew up with an Italian father who is a chef and was a product of the restaurant business, so I relate to it all too well and in turn, it also holds a special place in my heart.

Transitioning from the culinary delights of the restaurant, we ventured to Boundary Creek park in Moorestown, New Jersey for the second part of Tatiana and Tomaso’s engagement session. Winter’s embrace had left the grounds bare, but the love between this couple illuminated the surroundings with a radiant glow. The crisp air and the muted winter landscape provided a serene backdrop, allowing their love to take center stage.

Outdoors, amidst nature’s simplicity, we froze moments of pure connection. In case you didn’t already know, I have a thing for In Home Lifestyle Newborn sessions! I just love them so much. I could literally do these sessions all day, every day and be perfectly content. There is something about the vibe and feel of an in home session that is so laid back and also so beautiful. Each in home session tells it’s own story and each setting is unique to that particular family, which is what makes each session stand out from one another.

For this In Home Lifestyle Newborn session, we started out in the nursery. I really loved the look of the more classic looking crib with the olive colored walls. Peek at the wall hangings with pictures of an old school Polaroid camera and a Volkswagon VW bus…pretty groovy! It definitely had a vintage type of feel, which you don’t always see too often in a nursery. It was nice to see something different!

And, of course I had to get my signature baby feet image. I also have a thing for baby feet, if you didn’t already know!

There were so many beautiful areas in their home, that I had to capture every single one of them. So many doorways to shoot through and windows to peek into. The home has an older architectural feel, with the rounded archways ad the exposed radiators, but also a more modern feel with all of the gorgeous updates. I love the combination of old and new in a home!

Mom and Dad were so cute the entire session, just doting over their new baby girl. I love how mom and baby did an outfit change during the session and everything matched perfectly. I really appreciate clients that take the time to carefully plan out outfits for their session and put a lot of thought into it. I am always here to help with that stuff, of course, but its really nice when they already know what to do. After having two adorable little boys and all the chaos they bring to life, they have been blessed with a girl to dress up and do all the girly things with.

Welcoming a newborn into a family is an extraordinary moment filled with joy, tenderness, and an overwhelming sense of love. For couples who have just embarked on the journey pf parenthood, capturing those precious moments through newborn photography becomes a cherishes keepsake.

This couple is extra special because I also had the pleasure of photographing their amazing wedding day! There is nothing I love more about my career than capturing all of the beautiful milestones in my clients lives. Seeing how incredibly happy Marissa and Brendan were on their wedding day at The Drexelbrook, and now seeing their love for one another create this adorable new life is an absolutely wonderful part of my job.

I always talk to my clients prior to their session and let them know what is needed for an In Home Lifestyle Newborn session, so that we get the best results for their session. So, here are some tips for a successful photoshoot:

Natural Window light is key! Embrace the beauty of natural light to create soft and flattering images. Always pose your client near the window or open curtains to allow sunlight to illuminate your scene.
Capture Candid Moments! While posed shots are beautful, candid moments often evoke genuine emotions. Encourage your couples to interact naturally with their baby, capturing the unscripted joy that parenthood brings.
Incorporate Personal Touches: Integrate meaningful props and elements of the home to add a personal touch to the images. This could include a favorite blanket, a family heirloom such as a wooden bassinet, or artwork from the nursery.
Patience is a Virtue: Newborn operate on their own schedule, so be patient and flexible during the session, allowing breaks for feeding and comforting as needed.

These two had such a beautiful fall wedding day at The Grove at Centerton in Pittsgrove, New Jersey. These two are also FULL of personality and it really shows in all of their images from the day. There was so much laughter and silliness and as a photographer, I love that! Phil and Joanna had such a memorable wedding day and I am so glad I was able to be there to capture all the fun.

Getting ready is definitely one of my favorite parts of a wedding day. So many emotions running on high and lots of anticipation for what is to come. Also, so many smiles and laughs exchanged. And, of course, all the pretty details!!

Speaking of pretty details…I really loved this Marc Jacobs perfume bottle. I had to photograph it and even give it it’s own spot on this blog, lol, because I just thought it was such a pretty bottle! Props to Marc Jacobs designers and to Joanna for having some great taste!

And, while the girls are getting ready, the boys are at play! Having some good ‘ole guy time in the woods. This was a really fun group of guys so we had to get some more candid type, playful images to really show off their personalities.

How gorgeous are these two? And, so fun and in love. We had a great time frolicking through the woods and capturing all the love between Phil and Joanna. More fun to come…I promise.

The Grove at Centerton in Pittsgrove, New Jersey has a really beautiful reception space, so we had to grab all the gorgeous details that filled the room. I love how adorable Phil and Joanna’s cake topper was, with their dog incorporated into it. And, the florals done by Flowers by Sweeten, on the cake were perfect!

Phil and Joanna had quite the reception party! From an unforgettable groomsmen huddle and lifting of the groom to the Titanic song by Celine Dion, where they carried him up high and circled the dance floor, to the surprise appearance of The Mummers, there was not a dull moment to be had. The look on Phil and Joanna’s faces was priceless when The Mummers came out into the reception area and onto the dance floor. It was a surprise gift from Phil’s mother and I can safely say that Phil and Joanna were definitely surprised!! I think it was a big hit with the wedding guests!

Many years of happiness and laughter to Phil and Joanna! Hope you two have as much fun every day of your lives as you had on your beautiful wedding day. Cheers!

As you can see, mom has great taste and this family’s home is such a beautiful backdrop for an in home lifestyle newborn session. So many patterns and textures and greenery everywhere you look, which I just love. Sometimes I only use a couple of rooms in the home, but sometimes I can find great photogenic spots in almost every area of the home. So, for this session we used almost every room in the home and found some sweet spots in each one of the rooms.

Not only do I love capturing different areas of the home during an in home lifestyle newborn session, but I love caputring something much more important…. LOVE!! I just adore the strong connection between mom and dad and the obvious admiration they have for both of their beautiful boys. You can really feel the love and emotion coming through in each of these images, and that is something I really focus on with my sessions.
